Kindergarten
Instructor: Ms. Plant
In kindergarten we explore many different areas of learning.  Kindergarten is a year of experiencing the things that help us learn and make us who we are.    Children grow many different ways in kindergarten: physically, socially, developmentally and cognitively.  Kindergarten is about giving students the chance to experience success in school for the educational career that lies ahead of them.

My goal is for your child to BECOME A:
Thinker, Reader, Writer, Scientist, Mathematician, Good Citizen, Problem Solver and Friend.

From Mrs. Kuhlmann’s Room

March 27, 2012

I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weather and an early start to SPRING!

We are continuing on with unit 8 talking about seeds and how they grow.  Thank you to those who volunteered to attend the field trip with us last Thursday.  It was a success. The k.kids enjoyed and got to see many different kinds of plants and the process it takes for plants to grow.  Along with our plant unit we have discussed living and nonliving things and the four things all living things need to survive (food, water, air and shelter)

The Longfellow Student Council started a garden on our playground last year.  They are always looking for helpers to plant seeds/plants in the garden.  As a kindergarten class we are looking for volunteers who would like to help the kiddos transplant their bean seeds they have been watching here in our classroom.  I am looking for volunteers for this Thursday from 1:30-3:10.  You are welcome to come the whole time or just part of the time.  Let me know through email (it is a new one) ckuhlmann@esu9.org, call the office and leave a message or send a note with your child if you would like to take part in this activity.

In math we will measure length using nonstandard units, graph a picture on a pictograph, cover designs using tangrams and identify the relationship between large and small numbers.

Have a Great Week!

Mrs. Kuhlmann
